[Field-Homework 2] Light after gloom

1)Framing(Point of view)

This video uses point of view, which is a camera angle records the scene from a particular person’s view. The video shows my perspective of viewing the raining scene through the window of a riding bus. This rain in the video represents a symbol of hope, hoping the unpleasant things will be washed away, wishing there will be light after the gloom, as if the coronavirus will be eliminated after all the terrible things have happened.

The panning of the camera delivers the emotions of panic and nervousness, just like how global citizens feel when facing the new virus.

4)Slow motion

The slowing of time before the bus entering the tunnel is like having increased tension before people entering the unknown, just like dealing with the coronavirus.

  1. Ina Wu says:

Appreciate your clever selection of the subject matter, windshield of vehicles, to reveal different emotions generated by the uncertainty of taking public transportation, specifically buses. Specifically the tunnel entry video, the slow-motion technique applied successfully heightened the “increased tension” that you are mentioning. For further improvement, do consider having a stronger narrative connection between the videos. At the moment, each of the videos stands alone well but doesn’t convey your title “LIGHT AFTER GLOOM” as a collection.
