  Mood Board; Thaika Fathima Ifaza   Description: I have name this mood board as full in life because it is talking about the fullness and the peace in life. Using promenades in Hong Kong as a way to relax and have closeness with family and friends. While using a promenade, i have also added a glimpse of café in the mood board, this shows that there is a peaceful place that people can hang out in.

I got the inspiration from Dune 2. It’s not relevant to my final video essay, but I like the way how Dune depicts future. I put the na-baron Feyd Rautha here along with the Harkonnen army. I also put the black moon of Harkonnen and the blue eye of Freman as well, as they are kind of symbol of their own planet. I had imagined to put some texture of sand and the shining spice in it, but it takes time. Maybe I’ll try late after. And this is my story board, which is what I actually wanna shoot for

[Mood Board]: “Hong Kong Cafes – Disappearing City” Kevin Shi

CHIN9511 Presentation12 Many traditional Hong Kong cafes with a long history are disappearing and closing down at an alarming rate. The trend is primarily caused by rapid urbanization and changing consumer tastes have strained many beloved historic eateries. However, in the past few years, it has been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, decreased household incomes and rising rent have further contributed to more closures. It’s important to note that such long-standing establishments have been an integral part of Hong Kong culture and serve as a third place many generations before have cherished.

  The theme of my video is traditional gates which are in silver color and made of metal usually. Therefore, I put the picture of shiny metal to show the shininess. I put the Marvel character – silver surfer cause when I work with silver metal, I would think of him. Also, the color tone of the character provides a greater color gradient of silver showed in the picture at the bottom left corner. [Mood Board]: “The Disappearing Casualty in the City” by Kan Nok Ming Valerie

Serves as a collection of elements associated with alleyway, the alleyways serve as the connection of spaces within a place. The redevelopment caused a gradual disappearance of the space which serves as the architectural aesthetics of the city. The descriptions suggest an alternative view towards alleyways as an economic stimulator.
