preventive measures in the mtr
Panning: Advertisement about the virus is present at stations
Zoom in: Cleansing the hands thoroughly at disinfection points of stations
Close up: Avoiding touch of personal belongings with public facilities as much as possible
Slow-motion: Abandoning the usual practice
This video shows that the usual practice of holding the handrail while using the escalator is abandoned due to the deadly virus. Despite the broadcast (? sound on!) and the banner on the floor, one does not want to touch the public facilities. The slow-motion emphasises the hesitation of holding the handrail. The resume of speed depicts the sharp decision of valuing health over physical safety. The hands flew back into the pockets with a huge move to avoid anymore touch later on.

Good attempt at testing the camera techniques. The subject matter is clear and consistent – the transit (non-)space of the HK MTR system. It also appears that you are experimenting visual techniques with audio/background sound – keep up with this! Some suggestions for improvement of the videos would be to consider new ways of “looking” at this urban infrastructure. What are some creative ways to reconsider this space of movement and human flow?
