What is the relationship between space and place?
Map represent a true world?
How narration links the place and space?
After I read the reading material and the tutorial , these three questions come to my mind. I want share some of my view. First, I think the relationship between space and place is coexistence. Place is defined by the human activities and gives it a functional meaning. Places like school, home or workplace are not only functional, but also contains many spaces which are undefined. When we are doing something in that place, the undefined space will be defined, and it will become a meaningful space. Second map is a tool that indicate place, but it is subjective. Since, it has a bias which belong to the writer, so it cannot be represent a true world. Since all stories take place in place and space is defined by the actions of the people in the story, narrative becomes the connection between space and place.

It is a nice approach that you set up questions for yourself. It is important to question what you learn. Do you think spaces help define a place as well? A school is a place but different schools contain different kinds of spaces. Likewise, a mall is a place but there are different malls with vastly different spaces. How does space help define the atmosphere for its users?
