Reading Response: Jennifer Yoos and Vincent James

This article introduces several types of buildings and infrastructure that assist the pedestrian system in urban societies. After reading this article, I have been informed that these facilities do not merely help the daily life of citizens, but also help the development of a city as a whole. For instance, the article mentions that skyway as an architectural form such as a bridge between buildings has become a prominent way to build up pedestrian systems in the 21st century. These infrastructures have greatly boosted the mobility of workers in the city. Besides, communication between firms or institutions has been aided as well. As a result, we can see that the improvement of the pedestrian system has contributed a lot to the rapid development of the economy.

Nice summary. I think relating the articles we read in the class to our real-life experience is one of the best ways to get a better understanding of the concepts discussed in the text. Coming back to your point on the multilevel pedestrian network’s potential in providing a better quality of life, I would suggest you elaborate a little bit more on this conclusion so that your readers can better follow your argument.
