From Marco, Poon Kwan Yiu 3035797432 : As you and the actor, actress and director will all contribute in the discussion of the usage of costumes, if there are different opinions and can’t come to the conclusion, who will have the final decision? Because seems that everyone can have quite different ideas and interpretation on the tone of the movie, as u have mentioned design of the costume consider the tone of the film
From Poon Ho Ting : How would you strike a balance between the preference of the audience, requirements of the plot and the traits of the characters?
From Caleb Wong : do u think a powerful costume design is able to act as the most significant role to the audience’s impression to characters? (it could be both good or bad influence)
From 3035771294 @HuangXin : does the costume design depend more on the understanding of the character and story or more on the reality?
From Wilson Chan : During your research into the clothing of the Tanka heritage, did you find out anything new about these people? If so, did these findings influence the story of the film?
From Li Ming Chak, David : I’m interested in the process of finding references. What if your character doesn’t have too much information on them, is it easy to project that era’s dress codes onto a indigenous character?
From LIN Wei Alex : I guess the design of the costumes really involves the communication with both actors and directors. By reading the script you might have your own understand, but this still needs to be double-checked with the directors and ask the actors to well interpret the thoughts. Is my guessing right or do you work on your own?
From Jill, Chan Chi Lam : Will the costume designers be involved in the actual filming(on site) or you mostly work on your own?
From Elinor Ngai Hiu Lam : Yes I also wonder the same thing too, would the interpretation of the character be different from the perspectives of the actors and the costume designers? When this conflict or difference happen, how do you solve it ?
