Different promenades around Hong Kong
One of the most renowned promenades in Hong Kong is the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, located in the vibrant Kowloon district. It also discusses how these pathways may help with urban revitalization by revitalising locations and drawing visitors through a variety of economic, cultural, and recreational activities. Furthermore, the article recognises the environmental side, since promenades located near waterfronts or green spaces promote respect for nature and motivate communities to establish environmental management systems. Method and production
Firstly, I tried to get the pictures of the promenades to see the peace and quiet place. Moreover, there are times that Hong Kong promenades can be crowded with tourists. The amount of attraction the promenades brings is highlighted. Although Hong Kong may be known as a disappearing city. It still has its characteristics that help showcase the uniqueness of Hong Kong. The different sides of Hong Kong show different characteristics of Hong Kong.
Next, I personally asked some visitors walking along the promenades about their views of the promenades. Most of them replied by saying that it is peaceful and calming. Some also included that they are able to get a glimpse of the whole Hong Kong while walking along the places. They really like the places in Hong Kong where the history of it is illustrated.
Although the old Hong Kong is slowly disappearing, the promenades can help bring back different memories of Hong Kong. In Tsim Sha Tsui promenade, there is avenue of stars which shows old actors and actresses handprints and their stories. In Wan Chai Promenade, there is an old MTR train left to show Hongkongers the old train and its history. This showcases the government is trying to protect some histories of Hong Kong while advancing the development of Hong Kong.
Through the understanding of the meaning of promenades. I learnt that it is a fancy way of saying “walking”. Promenades in Hong Kong allows numerous people to walk and receive knowledge of the Hong Kong stories.
While producing the videos, I had to learn how to edit and understand the different feelings of the video. In the start, I showcased the noisy and populated Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade to the peaceful and quiet promenade of To Kwa Wan promenade. This shows a lot of differences in Hong Kong. It involved a lot of different feelings and different ideas were puncturing through my brain. But, I chose to find the differences and use the similarity and use it in the video production.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Hong Kong’s charming promenades are a testament to the city’s captivating allure. From the bustling Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade to the serene Central and Western District Promenade, these walkways offer visitors an immersive experience in the vibrant energy of the city. With their stunning views, cultural significance, and harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, the promenades of Hong Kong truly make it an enchanting destination for locals and tourists alike.
