The first video shows a wide angle of view from the window of the tram, and it is also where the most visitors would pay attention.
The second video shows how the tram passes through others on the street.
The Third video shows how people interact with the tram, for example, what people passing by/getting on/off the tram look like.
The fourth video is a record from first person view, showing the way to get off the tram, and the situation inside the tram can be directly seen.
The fifth video is in the view of a passer-by. As a person walking on the street, I could meet the tram at different time and spot: beside the road, in front of tram station, and even in a crowded market. It is amazing that the tram has the closest physical distance with people. It is slow, but old and cheap enough to have a strong relationship with the locals. And this kind of physical “close” could be a reason why the tram was so popular in many of transportation in Hong Kong.
Audio-only videos can be very powerful clips to illustrate the urban conditions of different cities yet it is also not easy to let the audience focus and get the messages without good recording tool and conscious and intensive trimming. But I appreciate this very brave try and perhaps certain sound recording and editing techniques could help, and look for better sound recorder to borrow such as ‘Zoom’.
