My video-essay will be the in the form of a documentary, showing fragments of my life under the virus outbreak, especially how the outbreak will affect my lifestyle. Because I will be the one filming this video-essay, I am using a wooden model as a ‘stand-in’ who will be the protagonist of the video. I will place the model around my house, with it standing in front of different objects, hence I can have a new view on changes on my life and how it relates with the environment of my home. Included in the MoodBoard are some scenes and objects of interest that I hope to include in my video-essay. Tone of the backgrounds and different framing angles will be used to demonstrate my emotions and thoughts.

– Consider using stop motion capture, if you are animating with a figurine.
– Leave contextual clues in your film to situate your audience. Either be specific to Hong Kong, or generalize the context.
– Be consistent with your camera angles and lighting.
– Moving forward, you will need to determine whether this a documentary or an allegorical film.
Dear Matt,
I have been pondering whether the figurine is practical for my presentation in terms of technicality and efficiency in the production. Moreover, I have come up with new ideas that is more relevant to architecture, the setting of a home and its usage. Therefore, I am taking a new approach.
Thanks for the advice and summary of the consultation section, I will make good use of it.
