While reading the article, I have the same feeling with most of the people. I feel quite pessimistic and cannot see the future, especially the future in Hong Kong. As we know that the overwhelming population is getting serious, it is nearly impossible to purchase estate. As we know that Kowloon Wall City is the product of lacking planning. Sky-rocketing population causing the poor living environment in there. It is something happen in the past. However, I believe that we will face the same problem in the future. Since the Hong Kong population is still growing, the land will be used up one day. Then we will face the same situation with the Kowloon Wall City that poor people are living in a crowed place. Like in the movie Ready Player One and video game Cyberpunk 2047. Therefore, I think sci-fi film and reality is corelated. The past affect the idea of the sci-fi film, and the file affect how the people behave in the future.

The overcrowding of urban centres, as you pointed out, is indeed one of the pressing issues worldwide nowadays. I can relate to your concerns, particularly for Hong Kong. How would you relate these realities to Carl Abbot’s thoughts on “Migratory City”? Through which concept would you think to be fitting to read Hong Kong’s overcrowding issues?
