After reading the reading, I have a deeper understanding of space and the grade-separated pedestrian system.
Regarding space, “space” and “place” hold different meanings. “Space” is a “place” that has meaning, it is a location that has value, in other words, people have created memories at that specific location, which makes the word “space” differ from “place”. “Place” simply means that a general location, for example, a park, without specifically indicating which park, it is just a “place”.
Regarding the grade-separated pedestrian system, it is the skywalks or bridges we always see and use in our daily lives. They connect places from one point to another, without the need of pedestrians waiting to cross the roads at stoplights, making transportation much easier for pedestrians. It not only promotes the flow of people but also shows different aspects of society like social science and the economy.

Glad that now you have a new understanding of space and place concept. I think relating the articles we read in the class to our real-life experience is one of the best ways to get a better understanding of the concepts discussed in the text. Giving examples on its application, especially from your own perspective or your own experience, would be worthwhile.
