I would like to share something about women’s social status. One of the points mentioned in this article is that “ Hong Kong is the predominance of the female protagonist in the Cantonese- language noir thrillers”. In my point of view, this s a positive reflection of the change of women’s social stats at that age. Starting from 1960s, various movies started to set female roles as the main characters of the movies, like the “Black Rose” and the “Elevator Girl”. It could be seen that females’ situations were changed like the quality of the  workplaces and jobs are enhancing, that they are no longer in the bottom of the society that could only do domestic jobs. Those films started to promote female’s social status by setting various and plentiful scenes for them, like offices and elite housings, using architectures to promote the thought. So the plots and the scenes shown in the films show the modernity of the cities as well as they broadcast different ideas to the public through the settings in them.

You are able to extract a few key ideas introduced in the reading but you have only provided very few personal thoughts. More interrelatedness between the ideas of ‘modernity’ and ‘female working class’ shall be elaborated. For instance, consider the role of women in the industrialization process of Hong Kong. Please also pay attention to your language expression as it is somehow confusing.
