It’s not an easy task to create something that doesn’t exist in the material world, nor visible to our naked eyes. I believed “Spirits” appeared as a form of our own perception. So when the Director asked me at some point : Please make sure the costume is as scary as possible! I remembered my answer was: clothes itself cannot be scary, unless the viewers are able to connect and resonate with the person who’s wearing it, then of course we must also put this very person in a situation with eerie sound effect and creepy lighting, then perhaps we can achieve such goal. Costume is just a mean to make that connection.
