The content gives a different perspective to look at my own house, as I am one of those who are trapped inside the little cell you have mentioned, I sometimes do see my daily life during the outbreak is boring and sometimes meaningless; after watching your video, I change my mind and I would try looking for more “meaningful” things to do in my house! The organization of the video helps to present your ideas very clearly, and I can understand it very easily and comfortably.

The video identifies overlooked aspects whilst people are in quarantine. The focuses are placed into different locations and portions of the house, bringing up the fact that people often fail to notice the conditions of things in the space they call home; that also applies to the attitude in quarantine, thinking too much on boredom instead of reconsidering the meaning of ‘home’, That being said, the video could use more shots of the interior, to better illustrate the points mentioned by the on-screen texts.

Appreciate your detailly-drawn plan and interesting depiction of spaces. Are there any readings that inspire your perspective of a house? As a piece that centers around the meanings of space are not commenting critically on your everyday living space. Consider reading through Michel de Certue’s “Practice of the Everyday Life” again to think through the video. Also, read “Species of Spaces and Other Pieces” by Georges Perec to rethink about an ordinary space. Having a good bibliography would help you better ground your stand. At the moment, your narrative remains on an observation level. Including researches and new reports on dormitory and quarantine would make this piece much more compelling.

Your piece is a good Vlog but as a documentary, it failed to give us insights and reflections of ordinary spaces. It is only listing your finding but not exploring meanings. What are the meanings that you have discovered in this video? You’ve mentioned that “Our home is not solely a shelter, it means a lot more,” but after watching your video we’re still not presented with the definition of a home from your perspective? Your images and videos still remain in an observation level and are purely listed. Consider curating each visual medium and reflect on why specifically you are choosing the image or video. The video has the potential to be meaningful as the narration is easy to follow. More effort is required.
