How To Life in Corona
Quarantine life is very different from the normal lives we once had months ago. As there has been a cut off from the outside physical world, we remain in class as university students but online in Zoom classes. Some may say they are having an easier life without needing to commute to physical locations, but science says commute time to work if physically and psychologically healthier than working from home. With months of bed to working desk life, what can we do to make life less repetitive, finding more meaning in between resting and academics?
In this video, we explore the contrast between a life that’s forced to live and another that you can choose to partake in. The first being the lifestyle that I find very dreadful and lifeless as I believe there is more to life than this even under the current pandemic lockdown.
Boring Life Part
Hands on watch spin quickly, symbolizing a lost track of time
Wake up, make bed, wear slippers
Morning outdoor setting shot
Work on computer, Zooms, Lunch
Afternoon outdoor setting shot
Dinner, More work
Night outdoor setting shot
Hit the bed, watch hands spin backwards meaning it repeats all over again
Soundtracks: Jo Jo’s Bizarre Adventures Diavolo and Kira themes
I used a mixture of these theme played by myself on the glockenspiel for a more chilling and boring effect to match the boring life.
After the introduction of the first part, I present to you “How to Life in Corona”, a grammatically wrong phrase but emphasizing the word life, giving out ideas of what you might be able to do also.

Making Food
Showing the process of how food is grind and cooked through modern machinery places a view on how easy it is for us to create delicious dishes if we just put the time to doing it.
Dish washing
Placing the camera inside the dishwasher allowed a different perspective of
this routine, making it seem so easy for us in today’s time to save time by loading it all into a machine.
Vacuum
Using the Dyson portable V8, I film the action on different surfaces around the house but keeping the device in the center of the frame. Somewhat of a journey taken with the series of shots.
Desk Life
Video Game
Playing action games with people around the world keeps the adrenaline rush high and makes it more fun to be on the computer.

Who can escape the number of memes Jo Jo has created and fail not to be drawn towards this amazing anime series?
Music
Good music relaxes the body and mind from reality and certainly helps with
albums like Igor have so many genres packed into one story.

Calisthenics
Working out at home can be a safe environment to keep a healthy body from all the desk life you have for the majority of the day. Filmed from the perspective of the moving fan.

Hey Carson, Firstly, I really love the song you chose, it’s catchy and it makes the scenes more vibrant and lively. The use of the overlay at the beginning to show the repetitiveness of your lifestyle is quite smart, and also the use of various camera angles to show your movement brings so much fun, which is what we need at this particular moment in time. The most interesting scene was when you filmed your toy car drifting around your house, I found that really cool and was wondering how you filmed that, did you use stop motion? In terms of the organization, I think the flow of the film can be improved. As the title mentioned, a breakthrough should be a huge contrast. Perhaps you could contrast the slow movements and boredom of homework with the fast-paced running and sports that you included. Or maybe the colors, from dull to vivid. This would clarify the audience with a sense of change and breakthrough. But other than that, I think the soundtrack and the film itself match really well and camera angles are spot on.

I really like how you focus on breaking through the boring life that we all experienced since the spread of covid-19, this theme really stands out. The background music is also well put, the only defect is that the first bgm sounds a bit sloppy as if the layers are not in the same tempo. For the visual presentation, you conveyed the breakthrough message well, but I also agree with Wesley that the contrast can be more vivid. Color tuning really could help in the situation, if you were using Premier Pro, some creative filter replicating different vintage cameras could be in good use. The sneaker changing shots are really creative, however most of them ended up in running. If you uses different shoes for more activities, the montage will be more memorable at the same time can deliver the breakthrough idea more profoundly as you may include more activities. As you showed 5 sneakers in total, you may film 5 activities and make the video more rich and diverse. Other than these, you have done a great job!
An entertaining piece. Your film has documented the partaking of different activities for your breakthrough. What are some references that informed you of your stand? Are there other forms of breakthrough that people have experienced during the pandemic?
Well done with the framing of subjects, and good use of the floor plan. Besides the change in the audio, think of other visual techniques to contrast the lifelessness with the breakthrough of new activities. Loved the flying shoes, but was running backward intentional? Also, what was the significance of jumping back in time through the watch? Overall, it was a well-conveyed film.
