I really impressed by the way you depict the bickering between yellow and blue opponents. Indeed Hong Kong was greatly divided with pro-democracy and pro-Beijing, who are labelled as yellow and blue respectively, each side launched their attack vocally and even in real action. In the face of new crisis of pandemic, we were supposed to be united and join hands to fight, however, hatred between two sides were deeply rooted that made us sense that crisis would be an opportunity to attack our opponents. In this extremely polarized world, it is not easy to put aside our difference, but we must do so in order to leap over such challenges.

For the content, you combined the social movement of 2019 and the COVID-19 of 2020. It’s very interesting to use two color of toys to represent the two opponents (Pro-Democracy and Pro-China) and the story showed the attitude of the two opponents before and after COVID-19. Two sides unleashed their assault to each other for a long time and did not relax his political opinions even faced with the global pandemic. The COVID-19 is a brief interlude and the conflict has not been resolved which arouse audience’s reflection on that.

I really like the colored paper dinosaurs which represents people from different political spectrum. You may use some contrasting colors e.g. red, white, black etc. to represents the power from China Communist Party, white-shirt thugs in Yuen Long Attack or journalists in the middle of the conflicts. Besides, the message is clear on how choices of masks induce the political conflicts. You may try to describe how the Anti-extradition bill movement continues in 2021, even the pandemic of coronavirus may continue for years.

Hi, the video is very interesting. You have used the colour of yellow and blue to represent the two side of opinion. The message is clear. That is what may happen in the future.

The presentation of the dragons as allegory is creative and successful in their metaphorical representation. The soundtrack is well done and demonstrates your awareness of audio to complement the visuals. Some scenes, in particular, have a playful touch to them and add to the overall lightness especially given the heavier socio-political narrative of this video work. Appreciate the attempt to get it to the angle and scale of the dragon. However, there is considerable room for improvement for visual design.

In terms of content, while the position of your thesis is clear, it does not add towards demonstrating how you have been looking at a variety of sources. It would be helpful for you to read more in-depth into the themes, topics / fields of research that are relevant to your thesis. We encourage students to form cross-disciplinary knowledge and relate it back to our collective study of architecture throughout this semester. At the moment, it is difficult to understand the correlation between your references and how they have influenced or informed the thematic conceptualization your video work. Some places to begin this search include reliable news sources (e.g. The New York Times, Financial Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post) or published research journals – these could all really benefit your current list of references! Additionally, watch out on your spelling and grammar. These mistakes set your assignment back, unfortunately.

Creativity is original, well done. Keep folding dragons!
