[Field-Homework 1] Home Stuck?

Coronavrius

is a scary nightmare as many hide away to keep safe.

Zoom

Life goes on differently,

work continues on but virtually,

adding on more stress some may say…

Aerial

Every day with 10+ hours on the mac,

filling up the life we lack.

Skewed

Multiple tabs, clickty clack,

days at home getting wack.

Wide Angle

Multiple favorite tracks on rewind,

working assignments on the grind.

First Person View

Social media refreshing daily,

there’s really just a limited amount of content that’s interesting when you’re lazy.

Perspective

When everything inside remains static,

any change to the trees outside seems drastic.

View Frame

When the presenter looks grim,

you know the news will sound dim.

Focus

Staying hydrated by the hour,

why am I still feeling the lack of power?

Chiaroscuro

The fridge is full as ever,

is a home bound life set to be forever?

Worm’s eye

Is there truly no crave for anyone to go outside,

pursue what they love to do than hide?

Crop

Going out may require an array of masks,

hand sanitizers,
goggles

and gloves,

protection is the number one task.

Seriality

Recently, I’ve noticed more people outside

as they too have grown tired of their flats,

wondering what else the government has to provide,

other than acting like aristocrats.

The recent past year has not been easy for Hong Kong first with violent clashes and now the lethal virus. Many feel despair and helplessness as to the situations so we stay in to be safe. Although the internet is an abundance of content we have access to, soon we grow tired of hours online each day. I took these series of photos to convey the sickening feelings a typical university student may feel to being stuck indoors for long periods of time. Hope for feeling better seems to lie on going outside.

  1. Eunice says:

Poetry – Love your poetic annotations (hint: copyedit the grammar).

Chiaroscuro – Effective composition with good illumination.

View frame – The use of live human subjects is an unexpected creative decision.

Perspective – Not an accurate representation (where is the perspective?)

Seriality – Insightful use of increasing visual transparency that corresponds to decreasing frustration
