4 hours ago, the protagonist is seen hanging out with his friends. They are all enjoying their hangout very happily. They all decide to sit for a while. The protagonist decide to close his eyes and sleep took him in. He is lost as his friends left him alone. 4 hours later…. The water is pouring down his face, he is reminiscing his times with his friends who betrayed him. This photo showcases his friends’ betrayal , the slow and heavy pouring puts forth each memory down his face… he is lost both in memories  and place. Thaika Fathima Ifaza

I chose these 2 photos as when I read the prompt I wanted to use the environment to emphasise the loneliness and sadness of the protagonist. I think the winding roads can be seen as a symbol of how the protagonist isn’t sure about where their actions are taking them, and the lack of other people highlights how alone the protagonist feels. I chose these two pictures for my illustration, and both were shot by myself. The first photo was taken in Nepal, at the lakeside of Phewa Lake. On that day I had a similar experience—-wandering excitedly around the lake for hours, and this picture showcases the distance between me and the outside world since I felt quite excited but lonely at that moment.
