ESSENTIALISM

Social distance has brought us to a new reality, and realisation. We could stay at home all day everyday, being protected, still working on school works, because it will bring us closer to our “dreams”.(Or make more money on the future.) One could easily forget what is happening on the outside world if s/he doesn’t check on the news. On the other hand, under the pandemic, money would still be the first concern for others, what is ironic is that the usefulness of “money”is built on top of the “belief” that it is real. And it is a norm to chase after that, the belief is almost in our blood. What is more ironic is that outside of this comfort zone built by money, life wouldn’t mean anything when nature is hurt and dies. (I have been rethinking about my dream and my future.)

  1. Annie Lye says:

“• Consider ways in which to heighten the narrative and think what a 1-minute journey is like normally then think how you can exaggerate this. It would help to look at other cinematic productions and reference how they did it
    • You mentioned that the video project will focus on 1 person living in isolation within an apartment. Think about how the interior space effectively becomes the protagonist’s entire world. A container of their daily neccecities, emotional projection etc. How is the space organized? How is it experienced? How are we (viewers) seeing it? “
