[FIELD-HOMEWORK 1] CHANGES

1. Wide-angle: Corner of the park.

2. Zoom: Expensive masks on pharmacy.

3. Focus: A book promoting women’s rights which also made into a movie.

4. Crop: One book named South of the Border, West of the Sun I read.

5. Bird’s eye:The city is still working.

6. Worm’s eye: The public library is closed.

7. First person view: Some teenagers are playing basketball.

8. Skewed angle: A man concentrates on reading in a bookstore.

9. Perspective: One secondary school  is closed.

10. View frame: Gazebo without people

11. Chiaroscuro: Hiking with friends on Tai O.

12. Seriality: Some children ride bicycles  on Saturday.

11. Chiaroscuro:

One change that happened to me was to start hiking. For public health, most of people stayed at home for a long time and many people decide hiking because hiking is good for their mental health. According to news online, exercising outdoors helps to reduce anxiety and depression. It definitely is! From the bottom to the top, there are different people from different ages. All of them are energetic and healthy.  I feel unprecedentedly happy and satisfied when the beautiful views are in front of me. The photo shows the connection between man and nature soothes my restless heart.

  1. Eunice says:

Overall a good effort to respond to the task.
    5. The photograph which you identify as BIrd’s eye view is more effective for perspective. Try going higher to take a shot down or tilt you camera lens downwards more steeply to achieve the bird’s eye.
    6. For the worm’s eye, take the lens lower and tilt it up so you get a truer worm’s eye (this is more like a toddler or dog’s eye view).
    7. First person view – The subject matter is fine though technically its not quite accurate in conveying the first person’s view. Suggestion: include either a part of your body e.g. feet/shoes etc. indicating that is it YOUR view (you as first person).
    11. Chiaroscuro – This photograph on point and the best in the series.
    12. Seriality – Almost there. To make the series more powerful and effective in conveying your message (and you do need to be clearer in what you are conveying here), do not change more than 1 or 2 variables. For example here, each child in the frame is different in a different location and taken at a different angle. So many variables reduce the impact of the series in conveying a clear single message. Is your message that life is as per normal or there are less children in the park because of the virus or…?
