[Field-Homework 2] Depressed Downtown

In the downtown of the district, shopping centre is not as popular as before…

[1. Bird’s Eye View Shot] At weekend inside the shopping mall, only few costumers are hanging around. In the past, this is one of the most crowded place in the district.

[2. Camera is static, subjects are dynamic] Security guard is checking people’s temperature by using temperature gun to test people’s wrist.

[3. Camera is tracking, subjects are static] Outside a restaurant in the shopping centre, hand sanitizer, QR code, and public annoucements are placed on a table with no waiters beside.

[4.Zoom Lens Shot] At the door of a Starbucks, a waiter is checking each person’s temparature individually.

[5.Tracking Shot] Follow a customer’s step, the closed indoor children’s playground was shown, with some out-of-service elevators on the left. This video is one of the typical children’s playgrounds (or amusement park) during the crisis. As the government announced that an amusement park is a place where gathering people may quickly spread the virus, nearly all amusement parks were closed. However, the rent never stops. As a result, owners of amusement parks suffered from severe financial loss, which may strike the whole industry. I believe this video shows the tip of the iceberg of the economic shrink during the particular period.

Appreciate the continual tonality and topic pursued in this collection from field-homework 1. The zoom technique is well applied. What and how does a moving picture allow you to explore beyond a static image? To further improve, think more about how adequate techniques can help you convey different narrative that goes beyond an image.
