1.Camera is static, subject/s is/are dynamic
2. Camera at odd location
3. Slow motion
4. Camera is tracking/panning, subject/s is/are static
5. Crop
You can see that in 3, the slow motion was used before there was a transition in a new view. The slowed motion creates tension as to what may come next in screen, and also work as a partition of one part of the video to another. In the first part, the focus is on the phone screen and it being put on the lap. The slow motion takes place when the view point is moving to the view outside the car window, where the sky is ironically blue and clean with shining sunlight. This well explains the feeling of peacefulness, even in current health crisis situation. The first part is with black and gray color, while after the slow motion, the contrast in color and mood is created. Symbolically, first part is the sad current situation, while blue sky is the ironically peaceful mood. This theme is in connection with the first field work I have done.

Appreciate your approach on finding moments of peace amid the ongoing pandemic, and your attempts in trying out different camera positions. It looks like you are trying certain techniques to highlight a particular aspect in each video. For each video, it will be good if you can clarify in a sentence what is the subject and why you use the specific camera position/technique. For videos 1 and 5, the sense of simple enjoyment is well conveyed. This is less apparent in the other videos. Video 2 seems to be a child’s perspective as it is low and seems to be someone peering over the seat. Is there a point there you wish to make with this point of view? Is there a narrative sequence in the 5 videos – a journey to…?
