Lai Tak Estate in Tai Hang is an architecture with the most mesmerizing and confusing design. The circular and layered structure of the building adds a mysterious and futuristic touch to it. The pool of light pouring in from the top creates a stark contrast with the dark interior of the building. While the dark symbolizes the fear of the unknown future and possible dangers lurking, the light that comes from the sky signifies hope. The sentence 「自分の過去を探したい」that I have inserted signifies “I want to look for my own past“. This quote echoes with the protagonist’s desire to seek her own identity and find out about her past. The Japanese phrase 「青いのトーンを使う」means that “blue tones are used“. I have added blue tones into the photos I have taken as the colour blue is prevalent throughout the movie, giving out sci-fi vibes. I have also inserted several scenes from the original anime version of the film.
