Reading Response: Nezar AISayyad

After reading this article composed of three films, I found that the essence of people becoming voyeurs is the desire in their hearts. In the first film Rear Window, the hero’s sense of justice compels him to peep because he longs to solve a crime. While in the second film, the hero indulges in endless visual consumption and finds pleasure in voyeurism. In the last movie, there is fanaticism for public security.

These three films with different styles correspond to the development of the times, and this desire becomes stronger and stronger. The growth of the Internet and technology has brought convenience, but it has fed the ‘flames’ of lust. Some of them are even addicted to the satisfaction of the national government’s power. If this power is privatized, people’s privacy will be exposed to the camera. The film comes from reality, hoping that the problems reflected in the movie can be attached importance.

You have made good summary of the 3 films with regard to voyeurism. Regarding your last statement, if film comes from reality, what is the difference between film amd reality? What is its significance?
