Amanda Klein suggests, film cycles “are a series of films associated with each other through shared images, characters, settings, plots or themes.” While Pamila argued that the apartment plot has developed a new genre out of these prominent cycles. It is hard to put an apartment plot into any type or genre, where it seems to follow the equivalent trajectory of events yet the narrative highly depends on the apartment background. The apartment itself contains the initiative and porousness to work as a depiction of this movie, for example, we could easy to tell the unconscious peeping desire of the character from the opening shots of The wear window without any excessive plots and which also imply the thriller from those narrow and oppressive room arrangement. And those certain settings inside rooms could easily tell us about the education level, diet habits, social class and so on of the characters, which is raising my interest in what if we made the apartment into a hotel setting, then to depict a pure travel story? That what will happen if we try to reverse or even remove the function of Apartment Plot, would this space still become the plot and work in the same way? Nevertheless, just as mentioned and been exemplified with Japanese movie Black Water by Pamila, Apartment Plot is expanding our horizons as to travel across thousand miles to detailly explore the secret life of different citizens as well as learning the diverse culture with a fast and impressive, efficient way.
