This fascination with destruction can be seen in the popularity of movies such as Godzilla, which make the city to a frequent target of destruction. At the same time, Tokyo is also depicted as a city of resilience and rebirth. This can also be found in the many films and TV shows that focus on the city’s recovery after a disaster. For example, the anime series “Neon Genesis Evangelion”, in this one, Tokyo become a city that is constantly under threat, also a city that is able to rebuild itself and become prosperous .
