4. (Worm’s eye) going my way, taking a walk

5. (crop) the dimming sky and the lantern on a cropped view. It is slowly getting dark.

6. (Perspective) my perspective on kids and person on bikes and motorbike inside the villa area.

7. (skewed angle) although peaceful, there still is urge to find something more new from somewhere outside this place

8. (First person view) The wind was kindly blowing my favorite dress.

9. (Contrast/Chiaroscuro) The line of contrast is drawn by the nature and non-nature; sky and the building.

10. (Seriality) the sun has set and the way has lit up on my way back home.

11. (View frame) It’s almost dinner time at home.

In my focus shot, a drawing, likely done by kid on the column, is shown. This focused shot on the figure of drawing on the column, in contrast to the non-focused background, gives a peaceful and innocent child’s mood. However, combined with the understanding of the current situation with the CoV, such material of peacefulness and innocent mood help create contrast between the ironically peaceful situation of where I stay and the current situation. This ultimately emphasizes the theme of ‘irony‘ in the peaceful pictures, and help viewers how to view the whole story created by the pictures.

In short, focus technique draws one’s attention to the focused material, leading to a deeper understanding of the mood and details of the whole story-line.

You demonstrate a good understanding of and personal engagement with the course content with regard to the task. You offer some insightful reflections in your daily routine in India. However, there are several improvements you can do on photography techniques.
Bird and worm-eye view: Your photos are photographed at a high angle and a low angle. The Bird-eye view refers to the view from above, like a google earth view (Literally a bird’s view when in flight in the sky). The worm-eye view refers to a view directly from below – literally what a worm sees when it looks up.
Seriality – These are two good photos revealing the different times of the same space. But three would work better as a series.
View frame- Using the window as a view frame, the interior of the house can be revealed or focused on more. Currently, the frame is not working.
Your writing of the focus photo is thoughtful and ties closely to your title. Your photo as a set also conveys your title clearly.
