[Field-Homework 2] CALM

01: [A static camera] The citizens are talking with each other with a far distance on the road for cycling.

02: [Framing] A kid is playing on the playground and nobody is nearby him.

03: [Slow-motion] The teenagers are playing basketball without wearing a mask.

04: [A tracking camera] The visitors in the shopping mall are less and no one uses the escalator.

05: [Cropping] No one is using the tollbooth of the light rail.

[01] The static camera is a nice way to record the moment of the people. In this video, two ladies are talking with each other on the road. A static camera is like a frame. When the first lady comes from one side, and the second lady comes from another side, it emphasizes the distance between them and shows how they change the way of communication because of the contagion. A static camera allows the audience to look at the main characters easily with a calm background.

Appreciate the creative variety of videos in this set. The selection of the individual subject for each of these scenes and the use of technique is extremely well done. Why did you choose black & white for the teenagers playing basketball? Any particular reason for the different colour tonations/filters? Each video is a strong stand-alone piece, however, they do not work as cohesively as a set. This project would benefit from having a singular thematic focus or subject matter focus that acts as a containment of ideas.
