For my field report, I have chosen a Cantonese horror film called Rigor Mortis. The premise of the film is a man discovering community through horrible events in a public estate. The public estate looks like a socialist compound. Some identifying factors are it’s massive scale, long hallways, hollow middle communal area, and minimalistic brutalist design. The building’s spatial features convey a sense of superhuman feeling. The grandiose yet barron architecture makes the audience feel as though they are a small part of a bigger picture they do not understand. The white colour and grey colour of the building is accentuated in the filmography of the film. It conveys a sense of doom and gloom. The absence of colour makes the compound look impersonal and lacking life. In the beginning of the film
