The Lippo Centre is a landmark development located in the heart of Admiralty. Completed in 1988, Lippo Centre is a twin-tower skyscraper complex. Designed by Paul Rudolph, the octagonal towers both have a dark blue refractive glass curtain wall. As said by Rudolph himself in 1988, the futuristic design aims to “give the building ‘presence’ when seen at a great distance, from the middle distance, and from close distance, and from close hand. At the same time, it is intended that the building inhabit the sky, and become dematerialized by reflecting the ever-changing light.” The avant-garde masterpiece definitely leaves a strong image in people’s mind, and is chosen to be the headquarter of Hanka company in the film Ghost in the Shell. The mood board are made up of photos which highlights the pattern formed by the irregular structure of the building, as well as the dark blue theme and the reflection of surrounding buildings.
