Kong Fu Hustle is a comedy-action film produced, directed, and co-written by Stephen Chow in 2004. Most of the scenes in this movie were filmed in Shanghai Chedun Film Park, where many old shanghai buildings were constructed or rebuilt for filmmaking and exhibition. These days, when visiting the Shanghai Chedun Film Park, people can also identify many buildings or facilities that appeared in the film; for example, figure 1 shows a traffic light, and it is used by Stephen Chow to detoxify himself from the snake venoms. Many other spaces and buildings are also worth discussing, such as Cage walled

Field Report_KIM Daeun

For my field report, I have chosen a Cantonese horror film called Rigor Mortis. The premise of the film is a man discovering community through horrible events in a public estate. The public estate looks like a socialist compound. Some identifying factors are it’s massive scale, long hallways, hollow middle communal area, and minimalistic brutalist design. The building’s spatial features convey a sense of superhuman feeling. The grandiose yet barron architecture makes the audience feel as though they are a small part of a bigger picture they do not understand. The white colour and grey colour of the building is

[READING RESPONSE] Jennifer Yoos and Vincent James

The reading passage tells us some history and characteristics of the pedestrian system in different cities, like New York has multilevel “access trees”. After reading this passage, I try to rediscover and observe the multilevel pedestrian network in Hong Kong. As all we know, Hong Kong is a high density city, a good network of pedestrian systems can help to disperse the crowd. We can find skyways and footbridges everywhere, from housing estates to big shopping malls. Although the passage does not talk a lot about the underground tunnel, I think the underground tunnel system is also a very important
